Being “hands-on” means knowing when an elevator is out of order or a boiler is not working properly; it means reviewing the weekly payroll, each and every invoice, purchase order and requisition; personally signing all checks and visiting the buildings without notice; and reviewing every detail of the structure within the building envelope.
